Redlands Festival of the Arts

When: Saturday and Sunday, May 25-26, from 10 am to 5 pm.

There’s a huge festival in downtown Redlands on the Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. I’ll be at the in shady Smiley Park between the Smiley Library and the Lincoln Shrine in Redlands, California, adjacent to the Redlands Bowl and Redlands Police Annex gardens, click here for a map.

Free parking is available on West Citrus Avenue at the Redlands Mall and across the street from the mall next to the post office.  Additional parking is available at the city lot on Citrus Avenue and many nearby streets.

Learn how to free motion quilt and free your creativity! Third Wednesday Evenings monthly from September – May in from 6:30 – 9:30 pm (no class in December)

Piecing a quilt improvisationally is very freeing – there are no corners to match, straight lines are optional and the end result is truly one of a kind! Each month we will learn a different type of improvisational piecing and make either a large block or a few small blocks in that style. Depending upon how much you enjoyed that particular style of piecing, you could make a pillow or table runner, a baby quilt, or a full sized quilt with what you learned. The last month we’ll learn how to create a quilt top made from different style blocks and assemble a sampler quilt that could possibility look something like this:
