Meetup | July Goals

Considering that I spent over a week focussing on the latest Pokorny seminar that hubby runs each summer, I got a lot accomplished this month!

Even though I hadn’t even put the indigo shibori lampshades on my list, I’ve been thinking about these for a couple of months now. I didn’t put them on the list in case they came out really horrible, or I wasn’t able to even make them. I love them, and am still a little bit contemplating on making some to be in the booth this Fall, but the costs of the kit that I bought to make them makes a whole lampshade quite pricey. I’m not sure it’s financially the best avenue to go down, but I do love them!

Another new late addition to the list came about because Logan needed a new laptop. He always has used my old model, this it’s always had a nice padded sleeve to pad it while in a laptop bag. But his laptop broke and my latest laptop is less than a year old, so we had to buy him his own…a very early graduation present! Anyway, I had to get it covered pronto so it’s safe in the laptop bag/backpack. He wanted a big pocket that would also hold the power cord and mouse, so I added a bellows pocket with elastic at the top. Not the most attractive thing, but the function is just what he wants!

On tap for July is we are finally painting the Living Room! It’s one of those 2-story behemoths with a wall of bookshelves that have to be unloaded and moved away from the wall. We’ve got a LOT of paperback books in those shelves and I’m going to use an app to scan all the UPC’s and set up a database of our books; now that we mostly read on the Kindle app, I’d like to be able to look up whether we have hard copies of the older books in a series, etc… and so now is the time to do this! New pillows for the Living Room have been on my list for months now and I’ve not been motivated to make more than 1, I’m thinking a fresh, clean space will be motivating! I know having that freshly painted bedroom has been motivating…I’m already a good way through the piecing for the quilt that I’d like to go over the bed!
