Meetup | December Goals

The holiday season is upon us!!!! I didn’t accomplish much on my “have to” portion of my November list. Partly is because of a nasty cold I got the week before Thanksgiving, but partly it’s because I’ve been working on other aspects of my life, and the work in that area is slow going and emotionally draining. I’d prefer not to blog about this part of my life, but I felt like I’d at least mention this here because I’ve markedly decreased the work I do in my studio and I wanted to at least acknowledge that there’s a reason(s) for this for long term readers!

Anyway, here’s what I wanted to do:

Although I wanted to have that 3rd FMQ Club pattern ready to go for the club members to purchase in November, my exhaustion during my cold at the time I’d scheduled to write the pattern made me realize that having it ready for the January meeting would be just fine!!! So, that was a big burden off my shoulders!

Here’s some of the FMQ members from this month when we made really simple quilted zip bags:

We have such a great time in this class each month. With the addition of a simple quilted project to work on on top of developing FMQ skills, some of my students are learning other new sewing skills (like sewing in a zipper!) which is awesome!

Basically these goals are three fold:

  1. What I can get done for my Holiday Open Studio Next Weekend
  2. Things I need to make for Christmas presents
  3. Things I’d like to do over the holiday break

And then, a list of things that I’d like to do but I know I can’t work on now.

I’ve got a start on the Christmas decorating this morning; a trip to the Christmas tree farm early on Saturdya morning means that Logan and Andrew found the perfect tree in under a minutes, and we didn’t have to wait at all to get it paid for and in the truck! We need to remember this for the future!
