Meetup | July Goals

July is here, and with it comes the Pokorny seminar! It’s a bit late this year, starting July 5 and running through the 9th, so I’ve got two parties cook, one for the beginning (BBQ) and another at the end (pizza). I got about all the dyeing done I needed to do before it got beastly hot out, hooray!

I was happy to get curtains and bedskirts made for both boys bedrooms; although Logan could care less, Liam has really appreciated the effort we’ve put into making him his own bedroom. Hubby got the walls painted a nice grey (which looks different in each picture) and a cool ceiling fan installed, the quilt to match the pillow I made as a practice for that will have to wait (deadline, when he comes home for Thanksgiving break), so for now he’s using a quilt that’s a bit too small for the bed, it’s the one I made for Jaime Fingal’s new fabric line, I have the back side up for these pictures, but he likes the front to show.

It’s a very small room, so it has very little furniture in it, but lots of art on the walls. Liam finds it calm, and appreciates that we worked hard to make him a space of his own to come home to which is great! (The painting and curtain/bedskirt making took place while he was gone in Canada, so all we had to do to finish was to have him decide where the art was to be hung). He even makes his bed most days, which is great! The door to this room is right next to my studio door, so I can see in all the time, and I love to see it looking all neat and fresh when my studio looks like this:
