Studio Snapshots | Making Ornaments in Candy Claus’s Workshop

Since I’ve got my Holiday Open Studio this weekend, I thought I’d make some ornaments to have available for sale!

I have some of my Jewel Tone fabrics already fused with wonder under, so I cut out the shapes:

The ornament factory is open... #RedlandsAreaArtistStudioTour is this weekend! #fbp

and fuse them onto white felt: Details added, time for #FreeMotionMachineSketching! Getting ready for #RedlandsAreaArtistStudioTour #fbp

Then I add Free Motion Machine Sketched details to the retro ornaments:

All done #FreeMotionMachineSketching...now comes the fussy part, cutting them out! #RedlandsAreaArtistStudioTour #fbp

If these look like fun to make, did you know that I’ve published patterns of them with F & W media?

My birds are available in both my E-book “Create Handmade Gifts for All”:

as well as this year’s Quilting Arts Holiday 2015:

My Retro Ornaments are in last year’s Quilting Arts Holiday 2014:

So if you’d like to make some too, you should! 😉

  1. I LOVE all your work. Thanks for the scarf giveaway. The blues, greens, and aqua colors are my favorites. I love the bird ornaments too. Blessings!
