Now that I’m back from vacation, it’s time to take stock in what I wanted to get done in July as well as what’s gonna happen this month:

I actually got quite a lot of stuff done! Jess and Jim came out for dinner while my brother’s family were visiting and they got to see first hand the pillows they’d been watching me stitch on Instagram and loved them, hurray!

I also had a lot of fun dyeing with my brother’s family when they were out here for a quick visit, right before we left for the Tetons. Instead of the usual: “Here’s some primary colors all mixed up, let’s play” type of dyeing, I had everybody look through my Dyeing 103 multicolor palettes and pick out ones that they really liked. Then I set up the spreadsheets for those, did most of the mixing, and helped with the shaping and had them pour on the dyes. One fun thing we did was dye 18 scarves in Red and Grey; Madison’s softball team had to come up with a gift to exchange with another team, so we dyed them the team’s colors. Madi and her Mom Shelly had a great time pleating the scarves a bunch of different ways, and (more importantly) the gifts went over really well with the other team, and were much more personal than the other teams! We had a whirlwind visit with lots of great food:

dyeing,

swimming in the pool

Uncle Jibber on vacation

and talking talking talking,

18 popovers devoured in 3 minutes!

Stirling has a new friend!

but I got a chance for a quick photoshoot of everybody wearing/holding some of the things we dyed:
