Sew Mama Sew | Giveaway Day!

I am a huge fan of color, and one of the ways I satisfy my craving for color is dyeing  hand dyed silk scarves! It’s Giveaway Day over at Sew Mama Sew! (Actually, it’s all week long, with all sorts of bloggers having a giveaway on the same week!) so I’m participating by giveing away one of my scarves to one lucky commenter.

The giveaway is over, congrats to MaryAnn!

My scarves are inspired by many things, here’s one I dyed that is inspired by the lovely Jasmine flowers in my backyard:

Charmeuse-Jasmine

If you’re new here – welcome! If you’re a big fan of color and fabric, you may want to subscribe to my blog or sign up for my newsletter, there’s a form right there on the right! —>

How can you enter?

Just take a peek at my scarf color palettes and then leave me a comment on this post telling me which one is your favorite…or, is there a certain color combination that you’d like to see that isn’t there? I’m always looking for new color ideas, let me know! (Comment moderation is on, so don’t worry if your comment doesn’t show up right away, I’ve got to approve it first!) I will ship internationally.

When does it end?

Sew Mama Sew has put together a huge list of blogs hosting giveaways this week, if you’ve got some time, head on over and enter some more! They all end this Friday, May 16, at 5 pm Pacific, so you’ve got a few days to tour around and enter a bunch!

I’ll email the winner over the weekend and I’ll send the winner’s choice of habotai scarf out a week from today so you can be wearing it soon! (Or perhaps there’s a graduating student who needs one?)

  1. These are so beautiful. I can’t make up my mind whether I prefer the spring or the summer the most. I would love to see a scarf in lilac, cream, and blue called hyacinth. xx

  2. I’d love to see a “Melon” Combo! A green, a canteloupe color, and some pink!! Thanks for the chance to win 🙂

  3. They are so yummy it is hard to pick just one…
Black Orchid or anything with black in it.

  4. Gerber Daisy is my favorite, I would also love color combos with grey & a color! 🙂

  5. Well, I know I shouldn’t say that I already have a few of your scarves because then you’ll give this one to someone else, but I like the spring ones, especially wild rice and lilac — either one would be more than welcome! Can’t believe you’re doing this while teaching Mayterm! Crazy woman!!

  6. If I were trying to win this for myself I would choose Gerber daisy (it is an awesome combo) But a silk scarf is not generally menswear. So I would love to win one in Madrigal for a dear friend.

  7. I like lunar eclipse but I also like moonlight moth
these would make great christmas gifts

  8. Love your Earth & Sky and Wisteria combinations–they’re both so pretty! Thanks for the chance!

  9. Such beautiful colors! My eye went straight to Aurora–and stayed there for a while–though I love the Black Orchid as well!

  10. I’m totally going to get fired… I”ve been looking at all of your beautiful scarves trying to decide what color for WAY too long. I have to go with ocean surf but love them all. They look so soft I want to touch them.

  11. I love both Breath of Spring and Ocean Surf. And Earth and Fire… They’re all so lovely!

  12. I’m drawn to the Winter palette, though as I sit here wearing a blush pink, burgundy and cream skirt I realize that a scarf in those colours would be very useful in my wardrobe (and I’m now thinking that I’ll be underdressed when I leave the house this afternoon!).

  13. There are so many beautiful colors! I’m in love with the wild rice from the spring palette.

  14. I like all of the winter ones, but the moonlight moth is my favorite.

I think something green and soft pink (like apple blossoms) could be nice.

  17. It’s difficult to choose – they are all beautiiful – I narrowed it down to Earth and Sky or Sunset!

  18. Your scarf colour palettes are yummy. I would have to say Wild Rice and Ocean Surf are my favorites. I guess you could say I am a Spring kind of girl. Thanks for offering a giveaway.

  19. I love them all! And I would happily wear any of them to work and feel very posh. But I will say lunar eclipse is my favorite. Just lovely!

  23. I’m in love with your scarves! It’s really hard to pick a favorite, but I think I’m going to have to go with Sunset.

  24. Hard to choose, they’re all gorgeous. Think the blue one in the middle nudges out the others by just a tiny big.

  25. The wild rice color is really pretty but I also love the blue and purple on the center scarf pictured above. Thanks for participating in the Giveaway Day.

  26. Beautiful!!! I love the Gerber Daisy colors. Just gorgeous. =) Thanks for the chance to win!

  27. That is so hard to decide because they are all so beautiful! I think that Aurora may be my favorite.

  28. I’m a fan of Madrigals because I wear a lot of black and red in more formal situations. Plus, it is a tad less intense than Burnt Fire. For summer outfits, though, Wisteria is *gorgeous*!

  29. I really love them all but if I had to pick- I would choose the middle scarf. They are so rich with color and would be lovely to wear. Thanks for the chance to win such pretty scarves.
    Regards from Alberta, Anna

  30. Wow! I can’t believe how beautiful your scarves are! If I had to choose just one favorite, it would be Gerber Daisy.

  31. I can’t decide between moonlit moth and black orchid… I love things with a purple pallete!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  32. i love the one on the far right, not sure what it’s called… i’d call it steely grey and wine? i would love to see a sunny yellow with an aqua, and of course… being a louisiana girl you can never go wrong with purple and gold!

  33. I love all of your scarves, but my favorite is Madrigals. You are so very talented.

  34. I love the Black Orchid and Moonlit Moth. They are all gorgeous, hard to pick! Thanks for the giveaway.

  35. It is a hard hard choice. I really like your spring and summer flower themes scarves — those with a touch of green along with beautiful floral colors. Luscious.

  36. They are all lovely. It’s hard to make a decision. I like Wisteria the best, though. Thanks.

  37. The scarves are all so luscious.
It would be so wonderful to win one of them.

  38. I luv the ocean surf scarf, but it was hard to choose as all your scarves are beautiful.

  39. I would love to win one of your silk scarves, silk is so light but also remarkably warm when needed. I would like a ‘wisteria’ coloured scarf- combo of greens and mauves- my wisteria is amazing when out in flower.

  40. I truly can NOT pick a favorite color combo. They are all so interesting. I have recently let my hair go totally grey. Now I have a few dark hairs and when it’s wet, it looks so salt ‘ pepper that I wish I could go around with a water spritzer! LOL. I would enjoy any one of your color combos that you feel would go with “the white hair look”. Lovin’ your classes in dyeing candied fabrics, such a great take on living a little more INTENTIONALLY.
    Luann

  41. My favorite is Gerber Daisy…love those pretty colors!! Thanks for the sweet giveaway 🙂

  42. I think that Aurora is the one for me!
Btw, I saw you on “the show,” making organization envelopes.
Loved it, and loved your shirt. Is that a commercial pattern?

  43. Oh, how to choose?? They are all so lovely. I guess Wild Rice grabs me the most because the colors are so subtle. Do you use Procion MX on silk, too?

  44. Way too many people have responded to your giveaway!!! I of course love all your color combs, but maybe more purple with some pink??? Or Plum with pink?

  45. I love the pretty pale pink (I love alliterations too) but my favorite would be some with aqua or teal in it.

  46. I absolutely love the colors in Aurora! They are just beautiful! All of them are beautiful though. It was hard to choose just one!

  47. I think I would have to pick Ocean Surf, although Aurora is beautiful, too.

  48. I can’t make up my mind between Wisteria, and moonlit moth. Love them both.

  49. I like the summer and winter best! I especially like the scarf tying ideas…can always use inspiration here!

  50. Wow What beautiful scarves. I just love the colors of spring. Thank you for the great giveaway.

  57. That was easy, my favorite colors are blk/red so hands down it’s the Burnt Fire. 🙂

  58. I love the blue and lavender one in the middle!! Need a cheer up; this would be perfect!!!!!!!

  59. My favorite is the wisteria.

If I could custom dye a scarf, it would include aquamarine, lavender, and fuschia.

  60. I love the Aurora colors! I think an aqua, navy and coral 😀 Maybe with a gray in there

  61. Hi There! All are fab but I would love to wear Aurora! I couldn’t give it away, it’s too me!! Thank you !

  62. All of your scarves are gorgeous Candy! I am really loving ‘Sunset’…I’m an Autumn kind of gal. Thank you!

  63. I love how people are choosing all the different colours! Ocean Surf for me…

  64. Wild rice. Very soft colors with lots of light around your face. Just perfect

  65. I like the wisteria scarf.
    What about a
    royal blue and chartreuse combination?

  66. Love your colors of winter palette. The soft blues and greys get me every time.

  67. Your summer selections! Delightful!!! But personally, I love each of your scarves especially the ones with blues, purples and aqua!!

  68. They are all so natural looking colours. I think my favorite is blue yellow pink .

  69. I vote Chocolate Squash. I love the light and dark brown, chartreuse and all the colors in between. Green to go with my hazel eyes

**If you are seeing colors that you would love to know how to EASILY make, check out Candy’s online, work-at-your-own-pace dyeing classes. I have taken them all – they are great!!!!

  70. While I like the Burnt Fire colors, I would be interesting seeing it in darker, richer shades of reds like red roses and jet/onyx blacks. Without the shades of pink, It would be the perfect piece to go with a crinkle halter dress that I made. Your work is just so beautiful I would take any of them. Thank you for offering us the chance to win one of your creations.

    In Kind Regards,
    Tricia of Mid-MI.

  71. I absolutely love Ocean Surf. These are the colors that keep showing up in my quilts and design projects.

  72. I love them all, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be one in the summer collection.
Like the different ways to wear the scarf too. Great idea.
    Have a good one.

  73. Colours of fall earth and sky would be my pick, but I have to say they are all gorgeous. Any of them would be a beautiful adornment

  74. i love grey and orange, or grey and yellow, those are my favorite combinations right now.

  75. LOVE your scarves and your website in general, you do soooo much as a working woman & mother – I am jealous! 🙂 If I should win I’d pick the *wild rice* spring colors, all four colors work so well as a great neutral blend. Thank you for the opportunity!

  76. I like Lunar Eclipse, but with a fade to yellow or dark purple instead of black. Lovely scarves!

  77. I love Ocean Sky, but would also love to see a more pastel version of it – celadon and sky blue as the darkest shades, and the whole thing being less saturated.

  78. What beautiful things you create! I love your scarves and delightful 3D art and clothing and quilts! All the color palates are beautiful! Ocean Surf and Kelp are my favorites. Thanks for the awesome giveaway and for your inspiring blog! I’ve played with fabric dyes but haven’t gotten results nearly as beautiful as yours! I’ll be looking over your classes!
