Digging out from under the deluge!

So, last week I compared launching a new site to a roller coaster ride. Now I would like to compare the organizing and keeping track of entries into my welcome giveaway to a deluge! I really am fascinated to see which mode of social media people prefer…but keeping track of all this is a bit overwhelming! I hope I get up to the 500 entries so I can give away the grand prize, and I’m really excited to start figuring out the best way to communicate with these folks in all these different ways…but yikes, that folder in my inbox filled with comments to sort and respond to isn’t going down fast enough! My family & I are taking a wee break – the husband has a 3 day conference down in San Diego, and the boys and I are going with him…it’s been a carrot nudging me on for quite a while now.

I’d like to leave you with an image from one of my favorite abstract artists, David Castle. He had a giveaway for his Facebook fans to celebrate the launch of his wee paintings he calls “Flapjacks” He used the facebook giveaway to get some great quotes about his new series (he’s actually using mine!) – genius! There’s so much to learn, and I’m a lucky duck, ’cause this flapjack is MINE!

Have a great weekend y’all!

  1. Hey! I live south of San Diego! Imperial Beach, the most southwesterly city in the Continental United States. Enjoy our weather and hospitality while you are here. Lots of things to see and do. Great place to be with kids.

  2. I love the “flapjack” and your 3-D houses–beautiful quilting and color palettes; and I also noticed one of my favorite artists on the left, Deidre Adams.
I added you to my bookmarks! Good luck! (And please don’t let all the comments/entry analysis take too much from your family and your creative life. No need to reply to me.)
    Blessings!

  3. I also won a David Castle flapjack! Mine was turquoise, lime, and purple and was absolutely perfect with the colors I love. I enjoy your blog and find inspiration in your work.
