Oh my goodness, what a great time my open studio was! It was part of a holiday studio tour I did with four other artists this past Sunday. I got a few pictures taken before it started, they aren’t the best, but I thought I’d show you how I turned my living and dining rooms into Candied Fabrics Land:

We had some warm mulled cider with cookies and cranberry nut bread. There was a bit of a rush in the morning, and then pretty much a steady stream of visitors except for about a 20 minute break in the early afternoon.

It was great to be able to show folks how I worked. I had a few folks who know me only from the blog drop by – that was totally awesome!

I was really worried that we had gotten started too late, and wondered whether I was being nuts to do this in such a busy season, but I’m really glad we did this.

After all our worrying last week, we had totally awesome weather on Sunday! We were able to raise quite a bit of money for the charity (this year was the Redlands Bowl). I am so happy that we all made it through a busy weekend! My birthday party on Friday was a lot of fun, but so crazy busy that I didn’t get a single picture! However, I did get a few pix from the show:

OK, so I made through my shows with lots of stuff to sell. I didn’t get everything made that I wanted to, and now a bunch of stuff was sold, I’ve got more to make. Although all my big shows are done for the season, I need to have lots of gift type items for online sales and local folks. One new exciting venture I’ve been cooking up is a local artists studio tour on December 11.

November Goals

Don’t faint – but I’m going to actually take a few days off! Hubby has a conference in Scottsdale at the end of the week and I am going with him – 4 days away from the studio, whatever shall I do?

Although there’s a 60% chance of rain on Saturday, the odds of rain are Sunday are quite low, so fingers crossed the rain stays in it’s place, if it has to rain at all!

I’ve been working hard on something exciting for my birthday, which is TOMORROW, so please stop back by!

I have bit MIA online for past few days. I had a busy day at the show on Saturday, and then I’ve been playing catch up, as well as prepping for a couple of new ventures as well as a very exciting event coming up this Friday!

Anyway, although it was a bit chilly, we ended up having lots of sunshine and a successfull show.

We were in a new park, with lots of room to spread out:

Because the side of my tent was so prominent while walking down the pathway, we hung one of my larger quilts on the back side:

Because of the chill in the air, I brought along hand dyed velvet scarves as well as the silk scarves. THey usually don’t sell very well in SoCal because it’s usually very warm!

I’ve got one last outside show this Sunday – there’s rain predicted for Saturday with a slight chance on Sunday, everybody talk to whomever you have influence and make that go away please!

Well, I didn’t get much more of my list done, but I did get these wallets made!

Tomorrow I’ll be at Red Dirt Art Festival in “Smiley Park” on the corner of Cajon and Vine St, Redlands, CA, from  10 am – 4 pm.
