Works in progress

Standard Site design includes:

  • Help choosing and registering your domain name (this will cost around 10$/year, and should be done by you so you have the ultimate control over your address!)
  • Install WordPress(the software we’ll use to design and run your site), and use Headway (a premium WordPress framework) to design a unique website just for you, with up to 5 pages with custom page templates:
    • Home
    • About
    • Blog
    • Gallery
    • Contact Form
  • 1-2 customized sidebars, including search bar, and links to all appropriate social media (facebook, twitter, etc…)
  • Spam protection plugin, google analytics plugin, Next Gen gallery plugin (the best gallery plugin out there!)
  • Fantastic Search Engine Optimization built in (that’s Headway doing its magic)
  • 2 hours of training, so you learn how to:
    • Add new blog posts (with images)
    • Add new pages
    • Add new images to your galleries
    • Maintain your blogroll
    • Update WordPress
    • Update plugins
  • If you need more than 2 hours of training, there will be an additional charge.
  • For a truly unique design, we need to build upon a personalized graphic design. The standard site design is based upon us using your (copyright free) graphics or artwork. If you don’t have graphics, or need a brand overhaul, we can certainly help in that regard – but there will be an additional graphic design charge.

How much?

Each project is truly an individual, so what you have in mind may be more or less typical than what’s described, so costs will vary according to the level of complexity. But to give you an idea of how much something would cost, here are some basics.

We have 3 tiers of pricing, based upon how you host your site, and how much training you would like:

Premium Hosting: $350 plus $20/month

  • This includes the standard web design described above
  • A custom email (yourname@yourdomain.com)
  • We’ll train you so you can use your website, updating it with pictures and information as much as you like, but we take care of all the backend maintenance, that keeps your website safe, secure and working spiffy!
  • Specifically, we will:
    • Regularly update WordPress
    • Regularly update plugins
    • Regularly backup your entire site, both of your entire WordPress installation & database tables
    • Implement security measures to protect against hacking, stealing, and other non-niceties
    • An image of your entire site will be created each week and stored on a secure, offsite location for an additional layer of protection
    • If your WordPress Installation should require troubleshooting or restoration, we’ll hop right to it with no extra charge
  • This service does not include:
    • The customization of additional plugins
    • Protection against server downtime due to hosting issues
    • A guarantee that nothing will happen – but if it does, we are here to get things rolling again as quickly as possible – and with our backup system the downtime should be minimal!

Hosting for DIYers:  $425 plus $5/month

  • This includes the standard web design described above
  • A custom email (yourname@yourdomain.com)
  • We are more than happy to teach you all the ins and outs of maintaining your site. It isn’t hard, it just requires attention on a regular basis
  • We provide the hosting and training

Installation and design on another host: $600

  • Using another host requires more work for us to get it up and running, and more training to make sure you’ve got the basics down, so the price is higher.
  • It includes the standard website design described above

Extra content on your site

  • If you need extra page templates, etc. that’s no problem, we’ll determine pricing on a case by case basis
  • Need a shopping cart? We recommend Cart66 and are more than happy to install it and get you selling in no time!
  • Want to create a “member’s only” content area of your site – we can set that up.
  • Custom forms are also available.
