More Adventures in Linen | A Table Runner with Improvisationally Pieced Trees

I had so much fun with the linen scarf I made the other day, that I decided to make a table runner with the same method. The only thing I did differently was  add batting and quilt it.

I was a little stumped on how to quilt it, so I posted a pic of the top and asked Facebook, and Lisa Chin quickly replied “swirling snow/snowflakes” and that really hit the right note with me!

I had a lot of fun quilting the snowflakes – the only tough part was that I haven’t quilted with thread that so closely matches the fabric, it was often hard to see where I was stitching. I loved stitching the snowflakes and I know that I’m going to use this motif again!
