Meetup | October Goals

Well, September came and went so quickly, that when I got the okay to start blogging about my secret project, it felt like I’d only finished taping the DVD a week or two ago, when it was actually a full month.

I gotta say, that I still think that’s incredibly fast, but I have no idea what goes into DVD production after the filming so what do I know? I am NOT complaining 🙂 I can’t wait to see it!

So, here’s where I am:

I’m starting with the thing that’s going to take the longest – some more convertible totes. My survey about which type to make gave me intersting results:

  • Make some of both kinds: 72%
  • Hand dyed only:  22%
  • Shades of Grey: 5%

The comments on that post were very helpful as well. What was very helpful was a comment or 2 that pointed out that as long as I had my birds and some bright hand-dyed colors, the bags still had my signature style. Hooray! So, for now, I’ll make some more with the Shades of Grey fabric, and offer both kinds for sale, and I’ll see which sell first! Fun experiment!

To that end, I started cutting this morning, and made this figure to help me keep track of what colors I wanted to use with what fabric (I’ve got a commission for all purple with “ragg tagg”, so I was getting confused).

Now its back to the sweat shop for me! 🙂

  1. The grey chevron with the purple is so gorgeous, I love it! 😀 The pinstripe is my second favorite. They’ll all look fantastic of course, though!

  2. They are all fabulous… but my favourite is the hand dyed fabric. Good luck with the goals, I can see why you can’t do lunch this week!

  3. Oh it’s all so cool Candi… the studio space that you shot in is fab, and you are SO cute in those photos, you look like the happiest kid EVER! Congrats Candi! And I concur with the someone above, I love the chevron with the purple, and I love your pinstripe pattern too. Have a great October Candi, and thanks for the comment about teaching!

  4. Hey Candy,

Sounds like you are up for another exciting and productive month. Woo Hoo! Good luck with all your upcoming shows!
