Escapades in Web Design

Well, I fell into a bit of a rabbit hole last week. I’ve been learning how to use a wordpress premium theme called Headway (affiliate link) which is actually something called a framework – it’s giving me all sorts of control and capabilities, but there’s still a steep learning curve.

Anyway, the first site I wanted to create was for the group called “Artists for a Cause” – we’re a group of artists from Redlands that started putting an Art Show and Sale on in the Fall at the house of one of our members, (the house in the header of the site). Each year we choose a different local charity to work with, all the artists donate 20% of their proceeds to the charity at the end of the show. Each year we invite more and more artists to join in, so I wanted to get a website up to provide information for all the participating artists.

One of the guest artists from last years show, Gretchen Hecht, does digital photograph manipulations and created the header for the site by with a photograph of the house we hold the show in (the home of Adele and Walt Johnson).

Artists for a Cause

Here’s hoping that now I can start keeping the schedule I so gallantly set up last week and then cavalierly ignored! ;-)

You did a great job!! It’s kinda fun, isn’t it?! It is a black hole in which you can get caught if you don’t stick to your schedule ;)

    The site looks great!
